Introduction

AlPrg is a computer program for PCs that executes calculations concerning the aluminum production by electrolysis. These pages may be put together to modules depending on the intention of the user. Some of the modules are: Aluminum Production, Properties of the Electrolyte, Cell Voltage or Profitability Analysis.
If you want, for instance, to determine how much aluminum a plant is producing only the Aluminum Production Page is sufficient.

AlPrg combines most pages with a diagrams. These diagrams are conceived as GUI (Graphical User Interface) i.e. you can change values by dragging the mouse pointer over the pictures. You change the alumina concentration, as the next picture shows, by moving the values line with the mouse pointer. AlPrg updates correspondingly the other diagrams that show the dependence of the liquidus temperature on the electrolyte composition.
